Grumman HU-16B Albatross

Now available for FSX! AlphaSim recreates the classic amphibian with seven unique models and twelve texture sets (options for 'weathered' or 'factory fresh' versions bring the total variations to sixteen)! Full SP1/SP2/Acceleration compatibility is guaranteed, and all FSX features such as bump-mapping and self-shadowing have been used to full effect: the bump-mapping and reflectivity cause the many lines of rivets in the aircraft skin catch the light and make for a near-photographic look. AlphaSim employs 'RealGauge' technology throughout the detailed VC to provide silky smooth gauge movement, and after dark the user has the choice between cabin or direct gauge lighting at the flick of a switch. All the normal functions are present and mousable in the cockpit, and custom views allow for handy access. A truly outstanding sound package by TSS brings the Albatross radials to life (a good sub-woofer is recommended for the visceral bass rumble)! The expertly crafted flight dynamics provide an authentic experience, with no nasty surprises. Water take-offs and landings are straightforward, just watch those neat spray, wake and wallowing effects. Often overlooked in the simulation world in favour of the 'other' well-known amphibian, the classic Albatross finally makes its spectacular début in state-of-the-art form!
